The Gouffre de Padirac is the monumental entrance to a natural cavern in the Lot region of France, measuring around 35 metres in diameter. At the bottom of the chasm, at a depth of 103 metres, flows an underground river that forms part of a vast network stretching for more than 55 kilometres.

Rocamadour is a commune in south-west France, in the north of the Lot département, in the Occitanie region. It is part of the Dordogne Valley tourist micro-region. It is also on the Causse de Gramat, the largest and wildest of the four Causses of Quercy.           Rocamadour Lot and Dordogne Valley

 Castelnau Castle

The castle was built over several centuries, from the 12th to the 17th century. Its origins can be traced back to Hugues de Castelnau, who had a wall built around his estate.

The château des Tours-Saint-Laurent, or château de Saint-Laurent-les-Tours, is a medieval fortress in the municipality of Saint-Laurent-les-Tours, in the historic region of Quercy, overlooking the Bave valley and the town of Saint-Céré.

Jean Lurçat (painting, frescoes, stained glass, ceramics) who is recognised as the great craftsman of the 20th century tapestry renaissance,
bought the Château des Tours-Saint-Laurent in 1945, the remains of an 11th century fortress whose ramparts dominated the town of Saint-Céré (Lot), and set up his studio there. After his death in 1966, the château was sold to the Conseil Général du Lot in 1986, and the Atelier musée Jean Lurçat opened in 1988.
